How Can The Internet Harm Me

It might not seem like it at first, but the Internet is a very dangerous place for various reasons. Of course, physical harm usually will not come to a person. Still, that does not mean that bad things cannot happen. A person must contend with the possibility of identity theft, phishing attempts, scams galore, and many other issues. Dealing with all of these is not easy to say the least.

Phishing and scams are probably the biggest danger on the Web. Clicking the wrong e-mail or giving information to the wrong site could lead to problems. From there, a person could have his or her e-mail used to scam other people. Also, financial information could be stolen and used elsewhere. This all ties into identity theft, so a person could end up having to do tons of damage control.

The key to staying safe on the Internet is to use common sense. Obviously, a person will not randomly win anything, so those e-mails are obvious scams. Financial information should never be entered into sketchy webpages or anything similar to that. Common sense can keep a person out of trouble on the Internet every time. Of course, antivirus programs are a pretty good help too.More info here: Beware Yahoo E-mail Phishing Scam
